Little Black Dress

Everyone needs a simple black dress, no matter if its for special occasions, dates, or if your just simply going out. So for this last blog, id love to leave you with a look that all of you can pull off: the little black dress!
Within the last week, I have been shopping non stop to complete my outfits that I am bringing to Florida. I told my managers that I need a dress for when I am going to dinners. So my manager asked me "Do you have a little black dress?" When I said no, she was shocked and said she would hook me up.(I'd like to add, that if you are ever in Wet Seal and need help finding an outfit, we are always willing to help you come up with ideas!) The dress I used in this blog is, of course, the one that I got.
Now that the easiest part of the outfit has been chosen, it is time to pick out some shoes. When wearing a simple black dress it is always good to wear heels, no matter if you like them or not, they always looks better. For this outfit I tried on shoes that were not open toe, and open toe: the end result ended up being an open toed bootie. Wet Seal only had black, but I think a gold heel would work perfect for this look as well. Gold is a great color to go with black because it accents the black, and enhances your skin tone! Therefore, you will need to pick out some gold accessories. When choosing a necklace, make sure you get a short one rather than a long one. Why you ask? Well because the long necklace will take away from the outfit, and nine times out of ten shorter necklaces are fancier.
Well, there you go, now you have the perfect 'little black dress' look. Enjoy!!

Simple but Sophisticated

All this talk about winter creeping up on us, and now the freezing temperatures are finally here. Sad, I know. But does the cold weather stop me from keeping tights out of my outfits? You bet it doesn't! Call me crazy, but tights and leggings are the most adorable accessories to winter wardrobes. But wearing tights is not as crazy as the people who are still riding their bikes to ICC; now they are crazy! Well, if you haven't already guessed, I am doing another blog about a winter outfit!
In my last blog, I got a request about letting you know about some cute dresses that are now arriving, so this was my main focus for this blog. Considering how many new dresses I see coming into stock, it is apparent I am not the only one who likes to piece tights/leggings with a dress. Although most of these new dresses match the winter theme, not all of them are associated with winter. This means that if you do not like the Nordic print, or soft winter colors, you can pick a regular style dress.
The dress I chose for this look has a pattern that can be associated with snow flakes, totally winter! I love this dress because it is simple, but sophisticated. I chose a gray sweater cardigan and gray sheer tights. Why sheer you ask? Well, a solid color would take away from the dress, and all the attention will be on your legs. Sheer tights allow you to have a little color, but not too much where it overbears the whole look. For shoes, I chose the lovely sweater boots. I personally love these boots, but they are going to be terrible in the snow. These specific boots actually math the fabric under the lace pattern on the dress perfectly! I left the extra accessories up to you  guys. It gives you a chance to add your personal spice to the look!

It's cold, but be hot!

Mainly, I have put my focus for these outfits on the winter season, wouldn't you agree? Well once again, I have another winter look, BUT with a special twist. Even though it will soon be freezing out, you will surely be smokin' hot with this outfit.
Now that winter break is almost a month away, some of you, as well as myself, will probably be going somewhere warm! The past three years I have been away from home for the holidays, and I always have only one Christmas outfit. Now that I work in Wet Seal, I have come across many new Christmas outfits I can wear instead of the same one every year. For example, the one I used for this post!
I will be going to Florida this winter break, and you bet I won't be sitting in a house, I'll be going out with my friends! So, I wanted to give all of you ladies a great going out outfit, with a little Christmas spirit inspiration! So, obviously, I chose a red top since red is the color associated with Christmas. This top does show a little navel, but it looks really good, I promise! Also, the next color associated with Christmas is, of course, white, so that is why I used the white pants again. You could also do a dark wash or even black if white does not work out for your personal taste. If you do decide to go with a darker wash, you might want to consider either silver or gold jewelry and shoes, instead of the black ones I chose today. Too much black is never good. If you are going somewhere this Christmas, I'd love to know! Also, if you choose a look like this I would love to see how it worked out for you!

Winter wonderland

For this weeks blog I’m not introducing any new style, but simply giving you guys another idea for an outfit. Halloween is over now, and winter is on her way. Last time I gave you the sweater look, but sweaters are for when there is feet of snow on the ground. So, this week I want to show you how you can ease your way into winter without the sweaters.
This outfit has a spark to it that I just love. I actually have this snowflake shirt and when light hits the beads, they change to a variety of colors: blue, purple, pink, green color. It looks really neat. Considering there is not much skin covered by this snowflake shirt, I chose a pink cardigan, but when you wear it with this outfit it should be unbuttoned. Also, once again, I chose white pants for this winter look. White just screams winter to me! Next, my favorite part of this outfit, is the pumps. It is hard to tell from the picture, but these awesome shoes have glitter on the bottom and the heel, and the glitter matches the color of the beads! The look wouldn’t be complete without a pair of legwarmers, so I added a simple pair that match the design of the shirt.
If any of you try outfits that I put up, please please let me know how it worked for you! I hope all of my advise is helping you when you go shopping, or even if you have all these items, and just need to know how to put them together. Also, I added a link that takes you to the website where I pick all my items from, check it out!   http://www.wetseal.com/outfitter/outfit.jsp?outfitId=667664

BRRR!

Ladies! Aren't you absolutely hating this freezing weather? I know I am. Lately it has been so cold, I do not know what to do with myself because I have too much summer clothes! So recently, I went shopping and seen that many stores had this new style coming in. It is kind of an old style, just pieced together in a different way. So for my suggestion on buying winter clothes, go for sweaters! In my store, Wet Seal, I know for a fact that we have tons of sweaters to choose from!
For this week, I would like to introduce to you the new sweater style. Do you remember buying the long sweaters and wearing them with leggings? Well, I am talking about those sweaters. I love love love love, that whole look, it looks so christmas. But, the new thing is to not wear them with leggings, but with jeans. This style was in quite awhile ago.
The outfit I chose today is simple, but it looks very nice. I chose white pants (and no it is not a crime to wear white pants after Labor Day!) and a simple black and gray sweater. Now, this sweater is not the tight fitting type, so you do not need a belt to complete the look, go for a necklace or scarf of some sort. I chose a teal feather necklace to spice up some color. Also, I found a cami to math the color of the necklace so the color in the outfit will "pop" more. For shoes, I did not want to do black and overbear the outfit, so I chose more of a mauve. It is a very simple outfit, but I personally love the way it looks! try it out, and if anyone has any suggestions of what style they would like to see, do not be afraid to shout it out!

All eyes on you

Aren’t you sick of this weather that can not decide whether it wants to be freezing or nice out? I am not complaining about how beautiful it has been lately, because I get another chance to wear my cute summer dresses. Also, dresses make a perfect outfit for when you are going out with your friends or to a party of some sort. This brings me to show you guys one of my most favorite looks!
I’m sure you have been to the stores and saw a crazy printed dress, or dresses that have feather print, or paint splatter, or anything resembling that it is from the seventies, am I correct? Well you are going to want to pick out one of those dresses, but for this look I am using the feather print dress. Now, these next few items of clothing can be optional depending on the weather: a jacket, and tights. For the jacket, I would go with a leather jacket that matches the colors in the dress. Black jackets do not always work for everything ladies! Same thing goes for the tights, pick a color that is in the dress, match it with a pair of tights and you’re good. (Like I said, these can be optional, but it is super cute!) Now, for shoes, I chose a bootie. These bootie’s can be confused for a heel, but since there is a covering over your whole foot, it is considered a bootie. For accessories, I stuck with the feather theme and chose a pair of earrings that match the dress and the tights. Try this look out for a get together with your friends, I’m sure you will have all eyes on you!

Totally Seventies

Recently, I went into work and got a phone call from a lady asking if we had any parachute pants. You know the ones that are tight at the waist, poof out, and then super tight at the ankles? Pretty much they look like genie pants. These pants come from the eighties era. Then the next day I go into work, and i was shocked to see that many of our new stock items were from the seventies era. We were just getting calls about parachute pants! Anyways, we have the lovely variety of bell bottoms, furry vests, and hippie clothes. Now, I personally am still hesitant about this style coming back because I am more of an eighties fan, but I do like the whole feathery look; that is from the seventies. But, with being an eighties fan, it is so easy to pick out a pair of skinny jeans, and an over the shoulder top, and look cute. That’s where my expertise comes in.
Since the seventies are coming back into style, I figured that it should be my focus for today. When I think of the seventies, I think hippie; that’s where I got my motivation for the perfect seventies outfit. For this look, I went all hippie on you guys; from the frilly shirts and vests, to the bell bottoms. A “frilly shirt” is the type of shirt that is like a normal t-shirt on top, but stringy on the bottom; very seventies. It is best to put a frilly shirt and a vest together, so that is what I did. For bottoms, you’re going to want bell bottoms; sadly as it sounds, but that is what’s in. Then to pull the whole outfit together, add some color with feather earrings, and of course shoes. Now, you are probably wondering, “How am I going to pull this look off?” Some of you may know exactly what to do, but those of you that don't, try it out. Maybe seventies is your calling!
